Quick answer
Open the map menu, pick a base map, switch on an overlay, and choose what each parcel is labeled with. All three live in the same place: LandGlide has three base maps, four overlays and six label options, and you reach every one of them from the Map icon.
- Base map
- Overlays
- Parcel labels
What you can change
Three things decide how the map looks, and the same menu holds all of them.
- Base map: the map everything else is drawn on. Street Map, Satellite View, or Topo, which is the USGS topographic view.
- Overlays: data laid over the base map for extra context. Flood Zones, Contours, Buildings and Dimensions.
- Labels: what each parcel is labeled with, from the owner’s name to the parcel ID.
Change the base map on mobile
The base map is the one choice that changes the whole screen, so it is the one to make first.
- Open the map options. Tap the Map icon at the bottom right of the map. It is the top button of the three on the map screen.
- Pick a base map. Under Base Map, tap Map, Satellite or Topo. The one you are on is the one outlined.
Add map overlays
An overlay sits on top of the base map and shows something the picture underneath cannot, which is why it is a layer rather than a different view.
- Open the map options. The same Map icon at the bottom right of the map.
- Switch one on. Under Overlays, tap Flood Zones, Contours, Buildings or Dimensions, and it is drawn over the base map.
Change how parcels are labeled
Labels are what make a map scannable. Set them to the thing you are actually looking for, and a screen full of parcels becomes a list you can read.
- Open the map options. The same Map icon again.
- Open Parcel Label. It is the list at the foot of the sheet.
- Pick a label. Choose one of the six.
The six options are:
- Owner
- Owner Last, which is the last name only
- Street Address
- Street Address Number
- Parcel ID
- None
